Posted for Photo Friday's "Hot" theme this week. En route to Colorado, taken with the ever-popular "stick your head out the window and hold on to the camera for dear life" technique. Still in Arizona at this point, I believe -- probably under an hour from the Cameron Trading Post.
Desolate, black, and ungodly hot. The fact that they were resurfacing the highway in 110+ degrees didn't help.

It gets lost to some degree in the downsizing, but I found the lines through the water and the glass absolutely fascinating. The curvature of the glass contains some lines, the water contains an entirely different set of lines, the photo in the light, the light playing off the glass, the weave of the placemat...
It was one of those random moments where you notice something simple and a whole scene unfolds in front of you.
